Actress Jessica Capshaw, who portrays Arizona Robbins in "Grey's Anatomy," isn't going anywhere. She just renewed her contract on the show not only for the upcoming season but for the series' following seasons spanning to 2018 despite the series only being renewed for season 12.

As per TV Line, Capshaw's co-stars should be fixing up a deal with ABC as their contracts will expire in May next year and are expected to strike a long-term deal, too. This makes Calzona fans the happiest as it looks like Arizona's on and off love interest, Sara Ramirez's Callie, will be here for a while as well.

It will now be the turn of Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey), Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey), Justin Chambers (Alex Karev) and James Pickens Jr. (Richard Webber) to renew their contracts for "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 and beyond.

Apparently, ABC entertainment president Paul Lee wasn't kidding at all when he said that "Grey's Anatomy," which he described as "powerful" and "vibrant." will live on in the small screen for "many, many years to come" after McDreamy's series-spinning demise.

Interestingly, there are rumors that Meredith, who stands as the protagonist in the medical drama, will be no more come "Grey's Anatomy" season 12. The character is said to meet her Alzheimer's condition eye to eye, which was subtly mentioned in the previous seasons.

This opens up a chance for April, played by Sarah Drew, to step up and become the chief, as rumors are suggesting. However, the actress believes that her character is nowhere near primed nor concerned in taking on such monumental leap on leadership and is inclined on more action than form-filling.

"There's so much paperwork. You get buried in the politics of the hospital. All she wants to do is get her hands dirty," Drew told Entertainment Weekly. "She wants to be in traumatic situations, fixing and healing people. She has found herself to be a healer in a pretty dramatic way that goes beyond being a surgeon. There's something that spiritual for her."

What does the future hold for the resident doctors in Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital? Fans will find out in "Grey's Anatomy" season 12, which begins on Sept. 25.
