Seattle Seahawks vs Green Bay Packers - Seahawks favored

Seattle Seahawks Wikipedia

The Seattle Seahawks will be playing with odds stacked in their favor over the Green Bay Packers. Aside from the fact that Seattle will have the decided home court advantage, they are streaking as we speak. And winning it all once again for the second straight year seems to be imminent given the way that the Seahawks have been playing.

But that should not discount the possibility of the Green Bay Packers pulling a fast one. After a controversial win over the Dallas Cowboys, the Packers would not be here if they were not deserving.

A lot of that would hinge however on the health of quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is apparently playing hurt but the Packers are bound to make a match out of it. They have lost just once since November but with a one-legged Rodgers, it will be interesting how the Packers will adjust to this handicap.

Looking back, the Seahawks did beat the Packers handily in the season opener, 36-16. However a lot has changed since then.

Other than Rodgers, eyes will be on receiver Davante Adams who had four catches for 29 yards during the last four regular season games of the Packers. But all that depends on what Green Bay plans to do against the hottest team in football today.

Despite being obviously favored, the Seahawks cannot take the Packers for granted. The fact remains that the Packers are no pushovers and they made it this far for a reason.

Richard Sherman did play a key role in the season opening win for the Seahawks so a lot of eyes will be on him. There is also Luke Wilson who can stretch the field and pose more problems for the Packers as the Seahawks are expected to run as much as they can.

Hence, it will be interesting how the Seahawks tweak their defense, something that has been one of the main reasons for being here.

The Seahawks and the Packers mix it up Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the CenturyLink Field in Seattle Washington. Game time is set at 3:05 p.m. ET which will be televised by Fox. You can also watch in online here.
