Google Nexus 7 2016 release date: tablet loaded with Android N to have August release?

Since the Nexus 7 2016 failed to materialize during the last Google I/O event that happened last month, fans are speculating on a possible release in the month of August. Word on the street is the tablet will arrive loaded with Android N.

Rumors going around the community mention that the Nexus 7's reincarnation will arrive with the upcoming Android N, currently on its fourth preview version.  A total of five preview versions are expected before the mobile operating system is released to the public. It is estimated to be ready when August arrives, as will be the rumored tablet.

With regards to the release name of Android N, Android vice president Hiroshi Lockheimer has been trolling about Nutella for a time already, which makes many believe that it was already the chosen name. However, The Verge reported that Lockheimer is known to joke a lot online.

The Nexus 7 2016, as the name implies, is a 7-inch tablet reportedly with a Quad-HD display resolution, packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and paired with 4GB of RAM. Other reports also mentioned an NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor may be loaded into the device, but either way, it will be powerful enough to do multitasking which is an added feature of Android N.

Multiple variants are also speculated to arrive with the device, classified by its internal storage space -- 32GB for the entry level variant, 64GB for the mid-range version and 128GB for its highest model. A microSD card slot may arrive with the tablet, capable of supporting up to 200GB extra storage space. Previous Nexus devices do not include a memory card slot, so this is a big plus for the tablet if the rumor proves to be true. A 3,000 mAh battery will reportedly supply the power.

According to the rumors, the still-unannounced tablet will be manufactured by Huawei, or possibly by HTC.

Fans are expecting more news to arrive in the weeks to come with regards to the Google Nexus 7 2016.
