"Girl Meets Texas" was indeed a rollercoaster ride for fans of the series. While IGN points out that those who wanted answers about whom Lucas really has feelings for were not treated with the most clear-cut answer, the three-parter indeed showed how confusing young love can be and how teens with their angst get by and deal with it.
Going forward, it would seem that things between Lucas, Maya and Riley will change and could be awkward and baffling especially for Lucas, who seems to have formed a new kind of relationship with the best friends, one he is still unable to wrap his head around even after the credits rolled. It remains to be seen how this change will factor in the next "Girl Meets World" season 2 episodes.
Noticeably, the recently concluded "Girl Meets World" season 2 special appears to be an effort to demonstrate that the show can tell a story and stand on its own, considering the absence of references to "Boy Meets World," which are peppered in the previous episodes of the spinoff.
The next episode of "Girl Meets World" season 2 won't air until next month. This is to give way to Halloween and some fun trick or treating and also serves as a break for the series that aired three episodes consecutively.
And even after the long wait, this installment, which is titled "Girl Meets the Forgiveness Project," isn't guaranteed to provide a resolution to the Texas love triangle. Carter Matt points out that while the gang will be back in New York and everything viewers are familiar with, the bond between the gang may not remain as it was before.
But considering the title given for the upcoming "Girl Meets World" season 2 episode, it might touch on the subject too. Sadly, fans won't know for sure as a synopsis is still unavailable. Meanwhile, there's also hope that the installment will also explain why for a second in "Girl Meets Texas," Farkle looks at Riley like he had feelings for her too.
