"Girl Meets World" season 2 had many wondering what will happen with the Riley-Lucas-Maya love triangle by the end of its "Girl Meets Texas" special. No concrete resolution was provided but the installments that followed showed that Riley giving way to her best friend.

But in the next episode of the Disney Channel series, which is titled "Girl Meets New Year," it will be revealed that Riley isn't doing any progress when it comes to forgetting her feelings for Lucas and needless to say, things are going to get a bit awkward.

In the holiday-themed "Girl Meets World" season 2 episode, the group of friends get together to count down the days until the new year. Farkle urges Riley to admit to everyone before 2016 arrives that she is yet to get over Lucas. "We had a deal. I want you to tell them," he tells her in the promo.

After that, Farkle pressures her into confessing her feelings before the night ends. He reminds her that the clock is quickly ticking but it doesn't look like Riley is planning to disclose anything and tells Farkle that she needs more time.

"When midnight strikes, can she make a decision?" the voiceover asks in the "Girl Meets World" season 2 promo. From the looks of it though, she chooses to keep her feelings, which prompts Farkle to take matters into his own hands.

"Riley still loves Lucas," he announces in front of everyone. Lucas and Maya, who are apparently each other's dates during the party, are understandably knocked for six. What could this mean for the three?

It remains to be seen how the dynamics of the characters will change after this bombshell is dropped but it is assured that things will again make another shift after this revelation. "Girl Meets World" season 2 "Girl Meets New Year" airs Dec. 4.
