George Clooney denies allegations of blacklisting former 'E.R.' co-star

American Hollywood actor, George Clooney, has been under fire recently and is being accused by a former co-star, Vanessa Marquez, from the medical drama show "E.R." Marquez stated that Clooney was the main reason why she was subsequently blacklisted from the show, after she had allegedly filed a complaint regarding sexual harassment.

In a report by Fox News, Marquez, who played the role of Nurse Wendy Goldman for the first three seasons of the show, took to her Twitter and stated that Clooney had a role to play in getting her blacklisted from the series. Furthermore, Marquez alluded that in Hollywood, if women do not "play the game," then more often than not, they lose their careers. It can be surmised that she was referring to sexual favors, which is a hot topic in the entertainment business today.

According to Indiana Express, Marquez even retweeted the article wherein Clooney voiced out his disapproval of Harvey Weinstein's sexual assault allegations. Perhaps, this was Marquez's' way of impugning Clooney, who had shared his thoughts regarding the matter but not entirely innocent himself.

The implications and accusations against Clooney, though not as terrible as Weinstein's, may potentially damage his illustrious career. This is why the actor was inclined to respond to the allegations. She Knows has reported that Clooney released a statement saying that he was not even aware that Marquez had been blacklisted from the industry.

Furthermore, he stated that he was not part of the producers or directors of the show, thus having no power or control over the fate of the cast members. It could be possible that Marquez was fed false information about Clooney being a co-conspirator in ending her career in show business. Whatever the case may be, all of these allegations are currently hearsay, and would require concrete evidence if the situation becomes a legal matter.
