The long-running ABC American drama television show "General Hospital" will see the possible return of a past cast member on Wednesday's episode, Jan. 17. Bryan Craig, who plays Morgan Corinthos, is set to come back to Port Charles, and will even be a regular cast member.

The return of Morgan is going to come with thinly veiled hints, starting with Ava Jerome, played by Maura West, as she remembers Morgan through a series of flashbacks. Ava will be hit with a long overdue tide of guilt due to being partially responsible for Morgan's alleged death. This happens as Ava recalls Morgan, as she is getting prepped for surgery to deal with some severe burns that she got after a fire.

Viewers may not be thoroughly shocked at the prospect of Morgan returning, however, since the show in the past has been planting the seeds, and hinting of a possible return for the character through Morgan's name being mentioned in various storylines of "General Hospital."

It is important to mention, however, that it is not customary for "General Hospital" to drop some hints when a cast member is about to return to the show -- which makes the case of Morgan a bit intriguing. The reason behind Craig's decision to leave the show was so that he could pursue other projects that involved acting.

Although Craig's return has not yet been confirmed, some publications have blind items that allude to a possible comeback from a character that has previously been presumed dead. These blind items give more credence to the possibility of Morgan's return, but the question remains: How will the showrunners convince the audience that it was possible for him to survive? On top of that, if he did survive, why would he return to Port Charles?

"General Hospital" airs weekdays at 2 p.m. EST on ABC.
