'Game of Thrones' news: How to book a room at the GoT-inspired ice hotel in Finland

Finland just opened a frozen hotel patterned after the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros from the global hit series "Game of Thrones," and fans can book a room or even get married in it.

The original novels may have been titled a "Song of Ice and Fire," but there is no room for Daenerys' Targaryen's fire-breathing dragons here.

HBO Nordic has teamed up with Lapland Hotels to create a GoT-themed 20,000 square meter village made entirely of just snow and ice.

Called SnowVillage, this is the 17th themed ice hotel from Lapland. Judging from the very intricate details given to every room, it is apparent that the hotel group is already an expert at it. They also got help from a number of professional ice sculptors from around the globe, who started construction once the temperature dropped to about 10 degrees below zero, around late October last year.

The GoT SnowVillage consists of 24 rooms, all featuring iconic "Game of Thrones" locations. One room sports the famous iron throne, except it is now totally made of ice. Fans can sit on it, just note that it is heavily guarded by Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane. Another showcases the Braavos Hall of Faces, with intricately sculpted faces creepily looking at guests.

Daenerys' fire dragons -- Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal -- have been replaced by an ice dragon, although this could very well be the re-incarnated Viserion, after it was captured by the White Walkers.

The hotel also features an Ice Chapel, where fans can actually get married. Let us just hope it does not end like the Red Wedding, where Rob and Catelyn Stark were massacred, or the Purple Wedding, where the groom, King Joffrey, was murdered.

Located in the resort of Kittilä, the SnowVillage is a great place to kick off a journey to see the famous Northern Lights.

The SnowVillage is open for day tours at $18 per person. Ten of its rooms, however, are available for overnight stay. A Snow Suite can fit two persons for $420 per night, while a standard room costs $315 per night. Each room includes high-quality sleeping bags to keep guests warm. But with room temperatures ranging from -2 and -5 degrees Celsius, it would be best to bring some extra layers.
