Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao rematch rumors 2016: Was Pacquiao shortchanged?

Everyone knows that Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao got a big payday for that May 2 fight which many felt could have turned out better. Just the same, however, the revenue generated by the fight shattered a lot of records and it was believed that both fighters became a whole lot richer.

However, former trainer Alex Ariza bared in an exclusive interview on Viva Sports' "The Main Event" that Mayweather was concerned about how much Pacquiao got from their May 2 joust.

Such was pointed out via a report from BoxingScene.com.

Various figures have been mentioned but to date, there has been no confirmation on what Pacquiao really received.

Ariza bared that Mayweather earned almost half a billion dollars from the May mega fight and the current row somehow hints at possibly questioning the people behind the eight-time division champion.

With that said, the issue of Pacquiao probably better off standing up on his own has come into the open, indirectly questioning the sharing between the boxer and his promoter.

Ariza further points out that this is the reason why Mayweather decided to go through the latter part of his career independently. With that said, everyone knows how all that turned out, with Mayweather pretty much made.

Bob Arum is likely to hit back soon on the allegations since he is technically the one being hinted at by Ariza and Mayweather. Hopefully, this row doesn't serve as another distraction for Pacquiao who is set to face Timothy Bradley Jr. for a third time this April.

The bout is said to be Pacquiao's last for his career, although a rematch with Mayweather could change all that.

Pacquiao did mention that a rematch with Mayweather is something he would be looking forward to, although it doesn't seem the flamboyant one is ready to oblige just yet.
