'The Flash' season 2 spoilers: Plot for new season to be darker

The Flash CW

"The Flash" season 2 will be very dark and emotional. This is what actor Grant Gustin told Buddy TV in an interview, after he revealed that he wants his character Barry on more karaoke sessions and how he loved the fun in the first season.

Gustin revealed that this season will see Barry as a lone wolf who rejects the help anyone tries to give him, thinking it will endanger them if he accepts. He still feels awful about getting all the credit that should have been for Eddie, who killed himself to get rid of the Reverse Flash. Interestingly, previously leaked photos on set of season 2 show that Barry's hometown will celebrate Flash Day, which, in the comics, is where the speedster gets the key to Central City and is immortalized in what they call The Flash museum.

Season 2 will show the events that took place after Barry raced into the wormhole to stop it from engulfing Central City. It will reveal how the singularity has affected all the people around him as well.

Also, the new season will attempt to dive deeper into Barry's powers and how he tries to further develop them. This is where the original speedster Jay Garrick comes into play. Danielle Panabaker, who plays Caitlyn, told Entertainment Weekly that the character is "going to have an impact on everybody on Team Flash."

The actress further expounded that the golden age super-speedster will be "a very cool mentor to Barry and he's going to help Barry expand his powers and the things that he's capable of doing." Jay Garrick will be played by Teddy Sears from "Masters of Sex."

WWE superstar Edge was cast as Atom-Smasher and Shantel VanSaten from "The Messengers" as Agent Patty Spivot.

"The Flash" season 2 will premiere on Oct. 6.
