Square Enix is still hard at work in building the next installment of the widely popular action role-playing game franchise, "Final Fantasy." The game developer has recently recruited outside help in finishing the game and found Taiwan-based developer XPEC Entertainment.
Video game director Hajime Tabata believes that having the game studio onboard is of the essence, especially because "Final Fantasy XV" is a "large scale project." According to Attack of the Fanboy, Square Enix also sought the help of Malaysian developer Wan Hazmer to take care of the open environments of the game.
Square Enix's move to enlist developers to work on "Final Fantasy XV" just winds up fans more as this could only mean that the upcoming game is a mammoth title in the making. Just recently, "Final Fantasy XV" has landed at the Taipei Game Show to show off its brand new location. The game studio gave a glimpse of the upcoming title via what they call a "cat cam."
XPEC Entertainment made the pitch to have the video shown in the unique perspective. Although it was initially shown from Noctis' point of view, the company found it best for gamers to see "Final Fantasy XV" from the point of view of a feline, plainly because of its nimbleness.
Besides, Square Enix already had players watch a footage that showed the city of Restarg from a "dog cam" during the Jump Festa back in December. It's just that XPEC Entertainment knows that cats can squeeze into places better than dogs so exploring the site will be much of a breeze. At the stage were XPEC chief executive Xu Jinlong along with Chairman Aaron Hsu and Hajime Tabata, who facilitated a tour in a new yet still underdone train station crafted by Square Enix's newly-recruited collaborator.
"Final Fantasy XV" will be set at 1080p and will run at 30fps. As per Attack of the Fanboy, Square Enix will utilize the Luminous Studio Engine, which is not it its final form. Luminous Studio is making headway for version 1.4 of the engine. The "Final Fantasy" demo will use version 1.5 while the complete "Final Fantasy XV" game will use version 2.0.
