'Fallout 4' DLC release date: Will scrapped Combat Zone content be added as DLC?

"Fallout 4" Bethesda Softworks

More than two months after "Fallout 4" was first released, and Bethesda has yet to unveil any of the game's major downloadable content (DLC) packs.

It's still unclear exactly when Bethesda will finally show off their DLC plans, but until they do, fans will continue to speculate about what kind of new content will actually be added to the game.

Although Bethesda has yet to announce anything, it would seem that they have plenty of options when it comes to what DLC they want to deliver for the game.

Bethesda may even decide to resurrect some old plans for "Fallout 4" that never made it into the original game and introduce those as DLC additions.

Recently, Kotaku was unable to unearth some audio files that hinted at what kind of content may have been scrapped for the day one version of "Fallout 4."

In a video published by the website, they showed that the discovered audio files were relevant to an area in the game known as the Combat Zone.

Apparently, the version of the Combat Zone currently found in "Fallout 4" was originally meant to be something more substantial.

The audio files indicate that it may have even been possible for players to take part in prize fights inside the Combat Zone, although it's unclear why this version of the area was ultimately removed from the game.

Despite the more substantial version of the Combat Zone not being included in "Fallout 4," it's still possible that Bethesda could add more of the originally planned features of the area as DLC later on.

Aside from DLC related to the Combat Zone, rumors have also suggested that new underwater content could eventually be added to "Fallout 4," N4BB reported.

The underwater content added to "Fallout 4" could come in the form of new vaults and even more cities, although Bethesda has similarly refrained from commenting on these predictions.

More news about "Fallout 4's" DLC should be made available soon.
