'Falling Skies' season 5 spoilers: Tom fights for his life in episode 1 'Find Your Warrior' premiere

The breathtaking story of humanity's intergalactic-level woes and struggles continues in "Falling Skies" season 5 that will premiere today with episode 1 very aptly titled "Find Your Warrior," which will chronicle how Tom escapes what was perceived as an inevitable death in space.

It wasn't easy for Tom and Lexi to destroy the Espheni power core on the moon and they certainly didn't get out without scratches. In fact, the former almost didn't get out at all. The synopsis for the episode says that Tom's Beamer will stay afloat in space.

Giving up wasn't option for him and neither it is for a "surprising guest" (unfortunately, there's no clue on this one) that pushed Tom to channel his "inner warrior," which is somewhere hidden in his bushes of fear and hopelessness.

Thankfully, Tom makes it back just before Anne, who is left without a choice to fill in for Tom, spearheads the 2nd Mass. The best part about his return is that he has figured out the best plan to walk out the warfare as a victor.

Sadly, "Falling Skies" Season 5 will be the end of Tom's story and Doug Jones, who plays Cochise in the series, assured to Zap2it during an interview that "questions will be answered as to why this [war] ever happened in the first place."

This is also what Noah Wyle aka Tom promised to Yahoo TV. He guaranteed that fans are "going to find out why the aliens came in the first place" and adds that the show didn't end before it should and before it managed to "satisfy the audience" and lay out the "entire story."

Also, with everything being about war, Hall and Ben's battle for Maggie's heart will finally end but did not attempt to reveal who will be the lucky an to emerge in the end of it all. Wyle adds that his character will take a "darker turn" in "Falling Skies" season 5 as part of TNT and the crew's plan to push the series to its limits.

"Falling Skies" season 5 premieres today.
