Fans and even the cast of the crime-thriller "Eye Candy" are still playing the waiting game that will determine the future of the series and whether or not a sophomore run is on the horizon.
As many TV fanatics know, a show is usually picked up for a new season toward the end of a current season, and the lack of that for "Eye Candy," which aired its finale one month ago, spells doom for the TV adaptation of R.L. Stine's book "Goosebumps."
For fans, "Eye Candy" cannot just end after leaving so many questions unanswered. There's the staged abduction of Lindy's sister Sara and the real score between Tommy and Lindy.
"[Lindy's] been dealt some pretty tough cards in life so at times she seems a little detached and doesn't easily let people in. I love her struggles and determination," Justice told Line-Up Magazine. "Whenever you start a new project, everyone's excited because you're all in it together. We look at ourselves as a team. We are all proud of the show and hope that the audience that's watching enjoys it."
With regard to the renewal of "Eye Candy," the actress-singer said that "our showrunner Christian [Taylor] says he has a few ideas, but he's not really elaborating until he knows if we're returning."
Indeed, Taylor has season 2 planned out for "Eye Candy" and he seems to be gushing just telling TV Line about it. As it turns out, he is bound to delve into Sara's faked kidnapping should MTV give the show another run.
"I'm not going to tell you anything!" Taylor exclaimed in answer to the big Sara twist. "No, there's going to be a big conspiracy that we'll explore next season about why her sister did that. And I'll say one thing: It will be linked to their father."
Story-wise, "Eye Candy," without a doubt, needs a second season to at least get a proper closure. The series leaving the door wide open merely suggests that the show has plenty more to tell about Lindy's undertakings.
