'Eye Candy' season 2 renewed? New season to have something to do with Lindy's father

"Eye Candy" hasn't been renewed for season 2 yet, but the writers seem to have so much planned for a second run. After all, even after the season 1 finale, the story is far from over. Lindy found herself fleeing New York without even exchanging pleasantries with her friends. And what about Sara's fake kidnapping of herself?

Executive producer Christian Taylor shed some light on the season 1 finale and what's to come in the second season. In a talk with TVLine, Taylor confirmed that they chose to take a detour from R.L. Stine's book. In the TV adaptation, the killer is completely different from the one in the novel (Lindy's roommate). The executive producer said that he and the other writers want to surprise the fans and that is why they opted to change the killer.

As for Lindy and Tommy's relationship, Taylor gladly said that they're very open to exploring this relationship if they get a season 2. Nonetheless, that make-out session between the two was a treat to the fans.

"You know what's funny? I think they kiss a lot better than Jake and Lindy kiss, which was really lucky. You never know what the chemistry is going to be like when you're casting..." Taylor said.

Speaking of Jake the killer, TVLine asked if the backstory on the character was made for the fans to sympathize with him. Taylor said that sympathy wasn't the main reason for the backstory; he simply wanted to let fans into the "mind of a psycho and to show what triggers him."

What about the huge Sara twist at the end? Apparently, Lindy's sister faked her kidnapping to save Lindy. What did the "Lindy will be safe" line mean?

"I'm not going to tell you anything! No, there's going to be a big conspiracy that we'll explore next season about why her sister did that. And I'll say one thing: It will be linked to their father," Taylor answered

With all this talk about what the writers have planned for "Eye Candy" season 2, fans can only hope that MTV won't ignore it.
