Video game developer Eidos Montreal, which has been responsible in the past for titles such as "Tomb Raider" and "Deus EX," has announced that it will be straying away from the single-player story-driven format that it has gained its fame from. Instead, Eidos Montreal has decided that it will be developing video games that are online, which are becoming the steady trend for video games.

In a report by Gamespot, Eidos Montreal's decision stemmed from the desire to innovate its video games. What video game fans can expect from now on is the developer's efforts to be geared more toward "online experiences." With that being said, it does not seem that the video game developer wants to compromise the quality of its video games, especially the lasting impression that it may have on its fans.

Most notably, Eidos Montreal has already revealed that it has undergone the process of hiring new employees whose responsibility is to adapt their upcoming titles into viable online games. According to IGN, the developer will be looking for ways to incorporate online play for its franchise titles, like "Deus Ex;" however, the future of this title is still uncertain.

Whatever the case may be, Eidos Montreal is already taking the necessary steps to create more interactive games, which they feel are now more impactful and have the potential to leave a long-lasting impression on players. As of now, its upcoming title "Avengers Project" is still generating a lot of hype, and many fans have high expectations for the 4K graphics video game that already has a visually stunning teaser trailer out.

According to Gaming Bolt, the recent announcement raised some concerns, and fans even went so far as to speculate that Eidos Montreal will also be integrating the "loot box" system into its online features. Fortunately for the players, this will not be the case. The specifics of the online features thus far are still quite unclear, but Eidos Montreal will still be creating single-player video games in the future.
