The Duggar Family's recent blog post has fans wondering whether the reality series "Counting On" is coming to an end.

"Counting On" has been on a six-week hiatus -- and counting (no pun intended) -- and fans have been clamoring for new episodes from TLC. In the post titled "Counting On Returning?" the famous Baptist family informed fans that there is still no news on when the show would come back.

"We have been in contact with TLC, but at this time, there are no announcements to share. As soon as there is news to give, we will post it here," the post said.

Fans were quick to note that if there was nothing to update at all, why post in the first place? Could this mean trouble for the two-year reality series?

The past year has been more than controversial for the conservative family. Eldest child Josh Duggar continues to battle the scandal he is in after allegedly molesting his sisters when they were still minors. His scandal caused the end of the family's original reality series "19 and Counting" after news of his molestation erupted.

In October this year, the family lost a lawsuit against In Touch magazine for identifying the minor sisters when it published the report of Josh's scandal.

Just earlier this month, Jill's husband Derick Dillard was fired from the show after repeatedly harassing transgender reality star Jazz Jennings through social media.

In a string of tweets, Dillard continued to criticize Jennings, calling the TV personality "him" and saying that she was being used by other people to promote "their own agenda." Jennings happens to star on another TLC show called "I am Jazz."

Apart from the never-ending controversy, there is also the low rating to think about. According to TV by the Numbers, the Oct. 9 "Counting On" episode drew a mere 0.3 rating, or 1,181,000 viewers, in the 18-49 age range when it aired.
