'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' news: latest gameplay clips tease official launch

Goku Black in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" Bandai Namco Entertainment

With the addition of both Future Trunks and Goku Black from "Dragon Ball Super" in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2," fans have the exciting opportunity to recreate their battles and give it a different outcome in the much-awaited fighting game.

This is exactly what the latest gameplay video (and possibly the last of the bunch before the sequel's official release) demonstrated as it saw Future Trunks defeat Goku's evil doppelganger.

Those who want to get Goku Black as a playable character in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2," but were not able to pre-order the game can still do so by buying the Day One edition from Gamestop and Best Buy.

This edition also includes the Tao Pai Pai Stick vehicle, which will allow players to easily navigate Conton City, which is much bigger — seven times to be precise — than the city hub in the first game. The Best Buy one also comes with a "Dragon Ball Z" Vol. 1 digital code.

Gameplay for Frieza, Cooler, the Masked Saiyan, and Goku was also revealed. Fans also got a good look at how the assassin Hit can fight in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2." In one clip, he brawled with Future Trunks.

A few days ago, the "Dragon Ball Super" villain was introduced in a teaser that showed him charging into Goku in his Super Saiyan Blue form. It was reminiscent of their battle in the Universe 6 vs. Universe 7 tournament. The location was even the tournament stage, meaning "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will allow battles to take place there.

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in the United States today, Oct. 25 while players in Europe will have to wait until Oct. 28.

The game is expected to feature as many as 87 playable characters, and a majority of them — around 76 — has been leaked via the beta for the game.
