A new video from Bungie takes "Destiny" players behind the scenes of the hotly-anticipated "House of Wolves" expansion pack, which will come out in two weeks. The all-inclusive footage fleshes out the story the expansion is based on, and its new modes, namely the Prison of Elders and Trials of Osiris.
As Bungie reiterates, it "begins with betrayal" that leads Queen's Emissary Petra Venj to open the Reef to all Guardians, making it the new hub for "Destiny" players. This also directs to the introduction of the final boss, Skolas, and all other menacing creatures to tackle.
Bungie also shows off the new Crucible maps integrated in the DLC. The first one is Black Shield, which is a medium-sized map that is set in Phobos, one of Mars' moons. Bungie says that the area "plays well with control and skirmishing." Widow's Court is an asymmetrical map located at the Earth's European Dead Zone, while the Thieves' Den is found in an abandoned fallen outpost in an active volcano (stress on "active"), which will have players fighting tirelessly in its center or mid-line.
The video also reveals more about the new cooperative strike called The Shadow Thief, which has a series of standard "Destiny" boss fights that can lead to various encounters with Fallen mercenary known as Taniks.
Also, Bungie restates the ability of players to upgrade their weapons to level 34. The game studio has already discussed the process in detail in one of their previous Twitch livestreams. Lastly, a new sidearm is introduced and the variety of new weapons is seen in action.
"Destiny Expansion II: House of Wolves" will be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC players on May 19. The expansion pack is priced at $20. It is also included in the Destiny Expansion Pass, which costs $35.
