Denver Nuggets NBA 2015 rumors: Ty Lawson's time may be up

Ty Lawson's wish is plain and simple – winning.

"'I just wanna win,' the Nuggets point guard said via Fox Sports. 'This is the first time I've ever had losing seasons in my life.'"

Lawson has been with the Nuggets forgettable two seasons but there were a lot of issues tied up with that including an arrest for a DUI charge back in January.

Aside from that, his performance has taken quite a huge dip. And from all indications, the Nuggets don't see him as a player ready to take on the leadership role thus that announcement that he would be eventually traded before the next season starts.

Widespread belief is that Lawson may likely end up in Sacramento where he stands to reunite with former Nuggets and current Kings coach George Karl.

His imminent departure all the more heated up when the Nuggets drafted Emmanuel Mudiay, one of the top guards from the 2015 Draft Class.

And Lawson seems to have expected the move, watching the draft on TV and eventually belching out a reaction:

"Told ya," Lawson declared to his buddy. "I'm going to Sacramento, bro."

As of now there is no official word on what lies ahead for Lawson as far as a trade is concerned. Nothing has been made official so it remains to be seen if he is indeed set to reunite with Karl in Sacramento.

For new head coach Michael Malone, Lawson is still part of the Nuggets quintet unless that supposed trade is made official. And a lot of that would depend on how fast the team can find a suitable trade partner which at this point seems to be Sacramento.

A hold up could be the fact that Lawson has a hefty salary tied to his head. He is set to make $12,404,495 next season and $13,213,482 in 2016-17. Such could be a point of consideration which has kept other teams from making a trade possible.

Regardless, Lawson is bound to end up playing for another team soon – a team that has an open budget and willing to take in the 5-foot-11 point guard who was drafted 11th overall in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves but would be immediately traded to the Denver Nuggets.
