Everyone's favorite unconventional superhero Deadpool is on his way back but the question on everyone's lips is when exactly will he return to the big screen?

Ryan Reynolds was awesome as Deadpool in the original and within days of the first installment hitting theaters, it was already confirmed there would be a sequel, much to the delight of fans.

We know already that Deadpool 2 is set to begin filming in early 2017.  That was given away by producer Simon Kinberg during the 2016 Saturn Awards when he told MoviePilot that work would start after shooting on the final installment in the "Wolverine" franchise has wrapped up.

"We start shooting 'Deadpool 2' at the beginning of next year," he confirmed.

"Then I sit down and start writing the next of the mainline X-Men movies," the producer added.

So the logical guess for a likely release date pointed to early 2018, with MoviePilot putting its money on March that year.  That would line up with previous reports that the sequel to the hit movie might land in theaters on March 2, 2018.

There is no confirmation from Fox for the timebeing as to the exact release date, just a tease around May 2, 2018.

And Reynolds himself added fuel to the speculations when he shared a fan-made poster for "Deadpool 2" on his Instagram page earlier in the month that featured the words "Coming Soon: Soon As In 2018".

There is also no confirmation as to a crossover between "Deadpool" and "X-Men", as director Bryan Singer has only confirmed that the concept is possible in theory, but refrained from confirming that it's definitely happening.

"If you take a character as irreverent and meta as Deadpool and connect him to something as grounded and serious as X-Men, you have to do it carefully and gently. When you drop them all in together it can be a disaster. That has to be done delicately, but there's plenty of room to do it," Singer told Variety in May.
