The "Ashes of Ariandel" downloadable content (DLC) for "Dark Souls 3" is now officially available on all platforms, including the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Days before its official launch, the first "Dark Souls 3" expansion was inadvertently made available on the Xbox Marketplace. Some thought that "Ashes of Ariandel" was released much early to Xbox One players, but this was not the case as Microsoft was quick to take it down.

Now, players can finally get their hands the DLC, which is priced $15. Fans can opt for the $25 "Dark Souls 3" Season Pass, which also includes the yet-to-be-released second DLC.

To get to the mysterious snow-blanketed location in the "Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel" DLC, players should head to the Cleaning Chapel in the Cathedral of the Deep area.

A new non-playable character (NPC) will strike a conversation when players get past the bonfire (he will be on the right if players are facing the altar).

"Dark Souls 3" players should then speak to the NPC twice and accept the mission. This should transport the players to the location inside the painting — the arctic world of Ariandel.

Depending on the level "Dark Souls 3" players are in, the "Ashes of Ariandel" will be difficult to go through. According to VG247, players at level 80 from a standard save will not have much problem in trudging the snowy world.

Veterans can go at least by level 70. For those on Game Plus, the "Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel" DLC will require much higher than level 80 as well.

This "Dark Souls 3" DLC should be enough to keep players busy as the second and final DLC will not see the light of day until next year.

Although two DLCs do not feel to be enough post-launch content for the game, From Software president Hidetaka Miyazaki already said that those expansions will be it for the game.

In fact, the studio is shying away from the "Dark Souls" franchise altogether save for possible "high-definition" remakes.
