Dallas Mavericks NBA 2015 trade news, rumors: Ty Lawson fit?

Ty Lawson is a player that could very well be up for trade soon but no one knows where he may likely end up.

For sure, he will be getting offers from multiple teams but where does Lawson fit in nicely?

A team which could be a potent destination would be the Dallas Mavericks. The team is sorely lacking a shifty point guard who can drive and dish and Lawson has proven that these are among the best traits he can bring to any team.

Though he does lack the outside shooting to make him a force to deal with, a team like Dallas is expected to live without such. The Mavericks have a roster filled of player who can shoot from the outside that could address that liability.

Hence, the Mavericks really need a playmaker that can setup the likes of Dirk Nowitzki or Chandler Parsons for the open shot.

Another dimension that Lawson brings is his peskiness. He has proven to be a good defender and swipe the ball when the opportunity arises. Should the Nuggets place him up for trade, Dallas should be a good fit.

The Mavericks are bound to lose Rajon Rondo who could be joining the Los Angeles Lakers once free agency starts. They could give up Monta Ellis for Lawson though it could be better if the Mavs could afford to keep them both.

The Nuggets could be looking to rebuild with younger players and it has been rumored that Lawson and perhaps even Danila Galinari would be traded away before next season.

Denver is in for a busy season and aside from the players, they are still currently looking for a new head coach. Mike D' Antoni has been mentioned but expect the Nuggets to explore other head coaching names currently unemployed in the market.
