CM12.1 firmware update: OnePlus One display problem not fixed by new firmware

OnePlus One has been making raves online, particularly because of its high-end specs at a reasonable priced. Unfortunately, an issue concerning the touch screen display has come up which has yet to be resolved and this concerns folks who have been constantly updating their device's Cyanogen OS.

Affected owners of the OnePlus One have apparently been having display problems such as ghost wipes and delays when it comes to touch commands and typing messages.

The CM12.1 would have resolved the problem perfectly since initial feedback from testers saw a smoother touch screen interface which would have been neat. However all that was short-lived when it was found that the said update carried a bug tied up with the device's battery.

While the touch screen problem has been resolved, the firmware carries a bug that would affect the phone's battery. After testing, it showed noticeable battery drains which would now be another concern has the firmware been made publicly available.

As it stands now, OnePlus will have to rework with Synaptics and find another solution since the CM12.1 is a bust.

Testers who applied the nightly build update ended up reverting to the old Cyanogen and meaning that the touch screen display remains. For now, there is still no word on when OnePlus and Synaptics would have a better fix that would incidentally also be bug-free.

So what could the real problem be?

From the looks of it, it seems to be compatibility issue has been traced to the touch screen drivers and for the ones who have been trigger-happy as far as Cyanogen updates are concerned.

It should be stressed that OnePlus One owners who have tried out unstable and untested Cyanogen nightly builds are most likely the ones affected. Hence, for the owners who want to keep it safe, using the official and stable build Cyanogen would be a wiser recourse to avoid these screen freezes and battery issues now in the open.
