To date, there is no official word on when CM Punk (Phil Brooks) intends to make his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut though the former World Wresting Entertainment (WWE) wrestler is hoping that it can happen before 2015 ends.

Punk, who made that surprise jump to the UFC after quitting the WWE, has since been in training over at the Roufusport Academy in Milwaukee as he tries to condition himself to a different kind of culture in mixed martial arts (MMA).

Even though Punk is known as a mixed martial arts expert, competing in the UFC level will, by all means, need the proper conditioning and training. And for now, there is no word on how much Punk has progressed under coach Duke Roufus hence the holdup as far as when he will actually make his debut in the Octagon.

If December is indeed the month that Punk is targeting, then that could most probably happen on Dec. 5. It is when UFC 194, the lone pay-per-view for the month of December, will take place.

Will Punk be up and ready by then? Only one man who knows the answer and that is coach Roufus. Apparently Punk knows that he needs to digest a lot of things in the world of MMA fighting and it will take some time before he can fully adapt and hopefully make a successful UFC debut.

"I say this all the time: I'd love to fight tomorrow," Punk told UFC.com. "But I want to be as prepared as I possibly can be and I will be. I'm still shooting for December. It might be January. I'm not sure, but I'll be ready when I fight."

Punk is expected to compete in the welterweight division once he does get the green light to compete. As far as his current status is concerned, Punk is clueless as well.

Only one thing is certain though, Punk will be entering a whole new world that is far different from the WWE.

At 36, it remains to be seen what lies ahead for Punk as far as his UFC aspirations are concerned. He knows that he stands to get heftier beatings from fellow UFC fighters and that alone is reason why Punk would need to undergo the necessary to make sure he debuts successfully.
