Cleveland Cavaliers NBA 2015 news: LeBron James opts out of contract, but not a cause of concern

Lebron James is expected to opt out of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers though that is not a cause for alarm for the Cavs fans.

The move was expected, something that Kevin Love had already done and J.R. Smith will be doing as well. Unlike the case of Love however, it is almost sure that James would be returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers unless he doesn't like the moves that Dan Gilbert and Cavs management will do to restructure the team.

James is expected to be dangled another lucrative contract, something which could also be similar to his previous one. Like now, he may be given an opt-out clause next year since the NBA salary cap is expected to rise by 2016.

Hence, all eyes will now be on what the Cavs will be doing in the offseason. The team had earlier announced that they plan to re-sign Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson and other players who could be opting out though the case of J.R. Smith poses some uncertainty due to the salary he is due.

Once the Cavs roster takes shape, expect Lebron to re-sign with the team to attend to unfinished business – that of which is to give his hometown an NBA title.

Unless the Cavs do the unthinkable and restructure for all the wrong reasons, the chances of James signing up with other ball clubs is close to nil. Still, expect some teams to dangle offers even if James' mindset is to return to Ohio.

In the end, it may all about how the Cavs can maneuver themselves and fit the player they want into the team's salary budget. The Cavs are trying to avoid luxury tax penalties and one player they will surely not want to lose is the four-time MVP, Lebron James.
