Chris Evans and Jenny Slate news: Rumored on-again couple spends Christmas together

Former flame Chris Evans and Jenny Slate are fueling reconciliation rumors after spending Christmas together.

Slate spent the holidays over at the Evans household, as seen in an Instagram post from Captain America's real-life brother Scott Evans. He shared a photo of him and the "Lady Dynamite" actress with the caption, "Christmas with my favorite Jew!"

The photo further sparks rumors that the older Evans and Slate have rekindled their romance.

The 36-year-old "Avengers" actor and Slate first met on the set of the drama "Gifted" in October 2015. They started dating months later, after Slate separated from her husband of almost four years, Dean Fleischer-Camp.

Their relationship lasted nine months, until they called it quits last February. A source told E! News at that time that the break-up was "amicable and recent." Another insider said "it wasn't dramatic or anything like that."

Months later, however, the two fueled romance rumors after what seemed to be like flirty exchanges on social media.

In October, Evans posted on Twitter: "The theme song to Mash stresses me out. The Pavlovian response is that it's time to go to bed and I probably haven't done my homework."

To this, Slate replied, "Probably haven't"???? Cmon, Christopher. Have you done your homework or haven't you? It's 7pm and you've had the whoooole weekend. Cmon."

Like high school students, Evans followed up by asking Slate about her handwriting and encouraging her to "cut class." Slate accepted the offer, calling it "terrifying and exhilarating," before joking that Evans should meet her behind the gym.

In November, Slate as good as confirmed the rumors after posting about her "boyfriend" on Twitter.

While she did not name who she was in a relationship with, spending Christmas with Evans and his family is a huge clue as to which "boyfriend" she was talking about.
