'Chicago Med' season 2 spoilers: Romance still in the picture for Will and Natalie? Sparks fly with Rhodes and Robyn

The fall finale of "Chicago Med" season 2 may have been a happy ending for Will (Nick Gehlfuss) and Nina Shore (Patti Murin), but this might not always be the case.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gehlfuss hinted that Will has not completely gotten over Natalie (Torrey DeVitto) despite the fact that he decided to take his relationship with Nina to the next level by moving in with her.

"It's not a light switch. You can't just turn it back off. You don't compartmentalize those types of things. And the very nature of the proximity of them working together, certain things flare back up and you deal with them, you figure things out," Gehlfuss explained.

"I don't think that those feelings will ever go away. What will become of them, we shall see," he went on to say, teasing the possibility of a love triangle when "Chicago Med" season 2 returns.

Natalie and Will have learned to be professional around each other in the workplace and not let their feelings get in the way when in the ER (emergency room).

As fans will remember, Natalie was quick to turn Will down after he confessed his feelings in the previous season of "Chicago Med" as she was still reeling from the death of her husband.

Will has become so good in pushing these emotions to the side while Natalie continues to enjoy her second chance at love with Jeff Clarke (Jeff Hephner) so far in "Chicago Med" season 2.

But it looks like Will and Natalie's story is far from over. With his feelings for her still there, but only buried, there might come a time in "Chicago Med" season 2 where they will resurface and become impossible not to notice them.

Natalie and Will's possible second try at love is not the only romantic aspect of expecting in "Chicago Med" season 2 as sparks were all over Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) and Robyn Charles (Mekia Cox) in the fall finale.

However, Donnell was quick to emphasize during an interview with E! Online that the two are "not diving in to bed together" but simply "feeling each other out."

"Chicago Med" season 2 will return with a new episode on Thursday, Jan. 5, at 9 p.m. on NBC.
