Chicago Bulls NBA 2015 news: Forced to choose between Butler and D-Rose?

The Chicago Bulls have an uncanny culture as can be seen with the previous dismissal of now-former coach Tom Thibodeau. Could players experience the same as well?

Derrick Rose seems to be getting a lot of that lately despite providing the spark for the team in previous years. That was before he succumbed to problems with his knees, most of which have kept him from completing one full season.

And during his absence, opportunity came for Jimmy Butler who proved that he can fill in the shoes of D-Rose when called upon to do so. But the thing is, Butler could be headed to NBA Free Agency if the Bulls cannot convince him to stay.

Rose on the other hand is heading to a rare offseason injury-free but the Bulls did mention before that if a tempting trade comes up for the former NBA MVP, they might just bite.

The health of D-Rose - most particularly his knees - have become a cause for concern after the 26 year old sat out most of the past three seasons due to injury. Moving forward, what if Rose suffers another freak accident and sideline him once again?

There have been several teams where D-Rose could end up though critics and fans don't feel that they could be happening. But for the right price and possibly manpower, the Bulls have been known to bite when the offer is good for the picking.

Rose did show flashes of his old self in the previously concluded NBA playoffs but it was apparent that he was not the same explosive self as before but with good reason. To stay healthy, Rose needs to be wised and surely this means sacrificing some of his agility and speed no thanks to troublesome knees.

Aside from questions surrounding his health, there is also the matter of his big salary. It could happen that the Bulls may divert that to invest it on Butler and secure him if they can.

Butler can opt out and check free agency though he did mention he was not looking for a max contract. If that is the case, it may be likely he will stay in Chicago. But can he and Rose co-exist especially after that celebrated misunderstanding that happened in the NBA playoffs?
