"Pretty Little Liars" star Lucy Hale loses at least $15,000 worth of jewelry after a burglary at her San Fernando Valley home early morning of Friday, Jan. 5.
According to TMZ, the thief smashed through one of the actresses' front windows and took jewelry and purses. Early estimates are at $15,000, but this might still go up as Hale finishes her inventory of stolen goods.
The report adds that the alarm was on when the burglary happened, with all signs showing that it was a random hit.
The 28-year-old actress-singer was not home when the incident occurred.
In a Twitter update, Hale said no one was hurt from the burglary. "Sad to lose some sentimental items, but thankful to be safe," she said in the tweet.
The actress has been very busy with the production of her new drama, "The Life Sentence," which is set to premiere on The CW on March 7. She did not have much time to mourn about all her lost jewelry. Instead, Hale is trying to keep the positivity alive in her recent Instagram posts, focusing instead on the good things.
Hale is the most recent victim of a string of celebrity burglaries in Los Angeles.
Just before the end of 2017, "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Kyle Richards and her husband Mauricio Umansky lost $150,000 worth of watches when thieves broke into their Encino home. Thankfully, the family was on a holiday vacation in Aspen, Colorado when the incident happened, and no one was hurt.
A similar case happened to singer Kelly Clarkson in early December. The 35-year-old musician said her Los Angeles home was ransacked by a burglar, who was caught on camera. While the entire family was also out when it happened, Clarkson was creeped out that the robber lingered on her child's room.
The LAPD has earlier stated that celebrities are not the main targets of this series of hits. Instead, the burglars are aiming for random nice houses, with many non-celebrity victims also reported in the past months.
