Gamers playing the PlayStation 4 version of the highly popular military science fiction shooter video game "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" has had the privilege of being the first ones to get their hands on the fourth and final downloadable content (DLC) expansion pack titled "Salvation." This is thanks to Sony's timed exclusivity agreement with Activision, which gives PlayStation 4 players early access to their new content.

However, the exclusivity period is now about to end as players on the Xbox One and on Windows PC are set to get the DLC expansion pack this week.

The final DLC expansion will be introducing four unique multiplayer maps to the game which includes areas that may already be familiar to long time players. One of the remade maps is called "Outlaw" and is a western reimagining of the "Standoff" map from "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2." Another one is called "Rapture" and is basically a remade map of the "Outskirts" arena from "Call of Duty: World at War."

The two other maps — called "Citadel" and "Micro" — are unique areas created by Treyarch. "Micro" is the more interesting of the two as it features a giant picnic table which makes players feel like ants running around giant food items and taking cover behind cakes and soda bottles. "Citadel," on the other hand, takes place in an ancient and foreboding structure filled with close quarter areas and sniping positions.

Apart from the maps, the new DLC also introduced the final chapter in the franchise's Origins Zombies saga and features a riveting end to the story that began eight years ago with "Call of Duty: World at War." Players will be once again in the shoes of the saga's main characters as they discover the true identity of Dr. Monty.

The "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" DLC titled "Salvation" is set to be released for the Xbox One and Windows PC this week, on Thursday, Oct. 6.
