'Bloodborne' release date; Leaked image shows weapon collection, new gameplay trailer promises faster combat pace

A new trailer for "Bloodborne" shows off the brand new title's controls and gameplay, which should excite fans of From Software, the same company that brought the massively successful game "Souls."

The new video shows the differences and the similarities of "Bloodborne" to the said franchise. In the 7-minute footage published by PlayStation HK, players engage in a combat set in a faster pace where a set of weapons, all deadly in their own way, are at players' disposal and that is all in the name of bloodbath.

As Den of Geek described the "unique" system, players can summon a large polearm after disfiguring their pack of enemies with a hand axe. They could also switch their sword with a hammer if piercing enemies does not sound as appealing as pounding them. Lastly, the combat system is more of an offensive play, where players dodge attacks rather than shielding themselves from them.

Apart from the trailer, there is also an artwork that hints more of what "Bloodborne" is all about. According to Japanese website Dengeki Online, an artbook that explores more of the weaponry within the title will be part of its collector's edition. The armory possesses a rather interesting and menacing appearance.

Although not much of the array is known, Dual Shockers claimed that the sword in the assortment is called Kyokai no Daiken. Design & Trend loosely translated it as "Greatsword of the Church." In the image leak, the sword is next to what is called the Kirkhammer, which has the same handle as the Greatsword. Design & Trend surmises that the Kirkhammer may be the main gear in the game while the Greatsword will "handle sub-situations that require more finesse."

"Bloodborne" has easily become the most-awaited title since it was unveiled in E3. Fans who loved the sinister and monster-packed games "Demon's Souls" and "Dark Souls" are at the edge of their seats for its rollout despite some significant changes done in the PS4-exclusive. "Bloodborne" is set to be launched on March 24 after a delay.
