'Black Mirror' season 4 release date news: Netflix drops new monochrome trailer for 'Metalhead'

"Black Mirror" drops the latest teaser trailer for one of its upcoming episodes, "Metalhead."

The action-packed all black-and-white clip features Maxine Peake running around a warehouse and a surrounding wilderness. Written by series creator Charlie Brooker and directed by David Slade, the episode is a post-apocalyptic chase story set in the empty landscape of the Scottish moors.

"We found a dog at the warehouse," Peake says in the trailer, before a person in a box falls from a ladder and she runs away in complete terror.

As usual with the "Black Mirror" teasers, not much is given in the video story-wise, although it is very effective in sharing the same panic and fear the main character feels. It is also driving fans nuts, trying to understand what her few statements mean.

"I've lost it for now, but I guess it's still operational," Peake is also heard saying. What was she talking about? No one really knows, for now.

The trailer ends with the actress in a thrilling car chase scene.

"If I don't make it back, I've always loved you all," she says to someone over the radio.

In a recent interview with Radio Times, Brooker said the episode will be very fast-paced, and will last only for 38 minutes. "It's a short technological nightmare playing out against... I don't want to say against the clock, but it's very quick and primal," he said.

Brooker added that it would be a total deviation from what the series has been doing for the past seasons. "We tend to be more about a human dilemma," he shared.

"Metalhead" is the fifth trailer to be released for the dark series' fourth season. Previous clips showed tiny glimpses into "Arkangel," "Crocodile," "Black Museum" and "Hang the DJ." That means only one teaser remains, and that is for "USS Callister."

Despite releasing teasers for almost every episode, "Black Mirror" season 4 has been clouded in secrecy. The release date, in particular, remains to be unknown. But with only one episode left to unfold, it looks like the season premiere is not that much far off.
