When "Battlefield Hardline" was announced, it was also confirmed that it will feature at least four planned DLC expansions. The first expansion, "Criminal Activity," was already released last June, and reports indicate that the second one will roll out soon.
Lead multiplayer designer Thad Sasser of Electronic Arts said via a Twitter post that one of the showcases of EA at the upcoming Gamescom event — to be held from August 5 to 9 in Cologne, Germany — will be about the next DLC expansion for "Battlefield Hardline."
There are scant details about the expansion, dubbed as the "Robbery" DLC, other than what Electronic Arts and developer Visceral Games announced when it launched "Battlefield Hardline Premium." According to the post released to the press, the expansion will let gamers "take down the opposition head on and progress through key locations with major cinematic action," adding that it will be "available summer 2015."
In confirming the announcement, Sasser also stated that the "Robbery" expansion pack will include a new game mode, greatly expanding gameplay options for "Battlefield Hardline." Current game modes for the shooter include Conquest, Crosshair, Team Deathmatch. There are also mission-focused modes, Rescue, Blood Money, and Heist.
Already released among the four planned DLCs is "Criminal Activity," wherein players need to navigate different maps and use the environment to their advantage while doing small-time crime jobs.
Aside from the two, the other confirmed expansions are "Getaway," featuring high-speed chase missions, scheduled to be released in fall; and "Betrayal," a snitch-oriented mission, set to roll out either in winter or early next year.
"Battlefield Hardline" was made available early this year for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
