'Battlefield 4' patch updates: Gun Master mode, five new weapons to be added via Spring Patch

"Battlefield 4" has a new Spring Patch coming before the month ends that will improve the players' arsenal and give them a new yet very familiar mode. Game company DICE wrote in a blog post that the addition of more guns (there is a total of five new weapons on the way) comes from the fulfillment of what the gamers want and wish to see in the popular shooter.

At the moment though, the game studio has only given teasers on what these armaments are. Chosen for its "massive fan desirability," the first one is a "new, fan-favorite" assault rifle that will take care of players' affinity for unique burst gameplay. There will also be a new unique bullpup carbine, a silencer-laden PDW, a long range "sniper" sidearm with magnum rounds, and a "run and gun" LMG.

The Spring Patch for "Battlefield 4" also improves damage, falloff and suppression model, with DICE also revamping all weapons in the game by "[creating] distinct roles for the weapon classes and [awarding] skill of the player through increased recoil and by bringing back the 2-bullet headshot."

The new patch marks the return of the Gun Master mode, first seen in "Battlefield 3." DICE describes that the mode is much like a Team Deathmatch game. Players work to earn consecutive kills to switch weapons. They move up to every weapon on the list and eventually win after getting a kill using the final weapon. The Gun Master mode has five presets, totaling to 18 weapons:

Standard

This setup contains rifles, machine guns, shotguns and pistols and ends with the M9 bayonet

Classic

Classic rifles, machine guns, shotguns and pistols ending with a M9 bayonet

Pistol

In this preset you can only use different kind of pistols, ending with the survival knife

DLC

This mode will let you play with DLC weapons – including the Phantom bow

Troll

Seeing how Gun Master is a "party mode", we had to make a silly weapon list too! This one starts out with ballistic shields (as weapons) and it's downhill from there

Lastly, "Battlefield 4" players will see significant improvement on the game's stability with the Spring Patch onboard. This is because of DICE's work on eliminating the game's bugs and crashes.
