'Batman: Arkham Knight' updates: Will Lex Luthor or Superman be part of the game?

Coming June 2, 2015. Facebook

An Easter egg on "Batman: Arkham Knight" hints on the possible inclusion of a prominent DC character or two. In the trailer of the Rocksteady game released back in December, it was only recently that Lex Luthor's building and logo was spotted.

The sneaky insertion of the emblem bearing the name of the most dangerously intelligent man in the DC universe was brought up on NeoGAF, where a screenshot of the gem, found in the Ace Chemicals Part 3 trailer, is posted. Additionally, in the set of screenshots recently released by Rocksteady through Facebook, CBM user TheFirstAvenger found the same discovery in one of the stills, which also shows both Batman and the city criminality in action.

Lex Luthor is a well-heeled power-hungry business mogul who doubles as Superman's archenemy with the use of his incredible technological know-how. The LexCorp logo appearing in the game's trailer has led fans to believe that the supervillain, who also finds a way to mess with Batman in the comics, will be appearing in the game. But being the Man of Steel's biggest adversary, it is also easy to think that Clark Kent's alter ego will be in the game as well.

However, Sportskeeda pointed out that this may not be the case. The site defended its claim by citing an instance where Bruce Wayne's insignia came into sight at one point in the movie "Man of Steel." Yet alas, the Caped Crusader did not emerge, and instead saved a duel with the man of Metropolis for another, apparently much bigger, film. While it is lovely to think that Lex Luthor or Superman will do the same in the gaming universe, it only becomes more impossible as "Batman: Arkham Knight" was already announced as the last in the "Batman Arkham" franchise.

Whatever and whoever the game studio plans to include in the game, it is still unknown at the moment. But media outlets consider the addition of Lex Luthor or Superman in "Batman: Arkham Knight" as a grand, explosive way to end the epic trilogy.

"Batman: Arkham Knight" is slated to be released on June 2 this year.
