'Batman: Arkham Knight' game update: New details about Batman's villains

The Caped Crusader will not have it easy in "Batman: Arkham Knight," not with a band of villains prowling to have a go at him. The latest and final iteration of the much-loved action-adventure video game series will again rely in the baddies and their thirst for Batman's blood to do the charm.

Speaking to Gamingbolt, Gaz Deaves, Social Marketing Manager at Rocksteady Studios, revealed the unparalleled glory of having onboard a whole host of scoundrels going after the Dark Knight.

"Having a Rogues Gallery full of amazing villains is one of the great pleasures of working with Batman," Deaves said. "Strong characters naturally inspire great stories, but in our game they also have a big role in shaping the gameplay."

Deaves has not laid out what makes up Batman's enemies' sinister plans and he may very well leave that bit of detail undisclosed for now as it may ruin the surprise for gamers. Nevertheless, the criminals are outfitted to be the nightmare of Bruce Wayne's alter-ego. This means that massive ordeals will befall the superhero and they will be something players will be surprised to see.

"Batman is facing an attack like nothing he's experienced before, as his enemies have all united for the first time to take the Dark Knight down once and for all," Deaves said.

He went on to say that Scarecrow's evil scheme will be so destructive that it will lay Gotham City bare to more dangerous foes. The need to evacuate the metropolitan's citizens also suggests that the problem at hand will not be easy to handle.

"At points in the game you'll see them pursuing their own objectives, while at others they're playing their part in Scarecrow's plan to destroy the Dark Knight," the social marketing manager further said about how "Batman: Arkham Knight" will be so much fun for players who would like to be the hero or the villain in the game.

"Batman: Arkham Knight" will land on Xbox One and PS4 consoles and on the PC on June 2.
