"Banshee's" Season 3 has been shaping up to be one of the show's best season yet. Just three episodes in, the show has given TV viewers the most epic fight scene they might actually see take place on the small screen.
In Season 3 Episode 3, the episode ended on a very surprising and sad note. Nola died at the hands of Burton, but she didn't go down without a fight, a marvelous fight that is.
"Banshee" EP Greg Yaitanes described the fight scene to Zap2it and also shared how they prepared for it. He credited Magnus Martens for directing the episode and Marcus Young for choreographing the fight sequence.
"When it came down to do the Burton-Nola showdown, we wanted it to live up to what a great and unbelievable showdown it would be. It was one of those things where you truly did not know who would live and who would die -- whoever was left standing was only left standing by the fact that they were still breathing," Yaitanes said.
There was so much preparation that went into the fight sequence. Yaitanes shares the actors had to train and rehearse the fight scene for six weeks as they had to do most of the stunts themselves. It also took them a whole day to shoot that particular scene.
He adds, "...the use of the vintage Rolls Royce as a staging piece. The fight starts outside the car, moves through the back seat and ends with... well, in typical "Banshee" style, it ends with Nola getting her throat ripped out by Burton with an assist from the hood ornament."
He credited the crazy idea to co-EP Adam Targum, who apparently wanted to see someone get "strangled from the inside of their throat." That was exactly what happened to poor Nola.
Will Episode 4 be about Nola's death? Cinemax has released the official synopsis for "Real Life is the Nightmare" and it reads:
"Siobhan is going to get torn between exposing Lucas and keeping his secret. Brock will seeth upon learning that his ex, Emily (Tanya Clarke), is working as a caregiver for Proctor's mom. Rebecca is going to impress Burton but inflames Chayton. Job and Sugar will mop up critical surveillance. Carrie is going to take off on a thrill ride after walking out on her job. Gordon will change his mind about Proctor's plea bargain. Chayton will ready his army for an assault."
