'Avengers 2' movie news: Andy Serkis' character revealed

The team of superheroes will be back in May this year. But before "Avengers: Age of Ultron" hits the big screen, fans would love to know what Andy Serkis will be up to in the upcoming Marvel film.

The 50-year-old actor is giving life to supervillain Ulysses Klaw. While fanatics have already spotted him in the trailers of the film, they would agree that his business in the follow-up film has not been given much light.

According to UPI, Serkis will be playing a merged version of Klaw and his father Fritz Klaue. The former is known in the Marvel Comics as the human physicist who exploits the element of sound with the use of the stolen metal vibranium to wreak havoc in the land. The latter, as Schmoes Know pointed out, has something to do with Baron von Strucker and The Howling Commandos.

However, Screen Rant explained that Klaue may just possibly be mentioned parenthetically while his characteristics as seen in the comics will be very much adapted. The site also added that the actor sports the look Klaw has.

In addition, Serkis' participation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe may not be limited to "The Avengers" sequel. With Klaw's solid association and enmity against Black Panther, who will be appearing in "Captain America: Civil War" and a titular movie of his own, it is easy to think that Serkis will render another performance as the bad guy in the string of Marvel superhero movies that stretch up to 2019.

According to Screen Rant, Marvel should be planning to stage a battle between Klaw and T'Challa, who should take place on the forthcoming "Black Panther" movie set in November 2017. This secures more of Serkis' involvement in the Marvel universe, although fans who cannot get enough of the actor will see him in the latest "Star Wars" movie, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," in December as well. But for now, fans have to see how things unfold on "Avengers: Age of Ultron" (the "biggest thing Marvel have ever done" as actor Paul Bettany put it) when it hits the theaters on May 1.
