Dedicated fans of "Attack on Titan" have so many good stuff to look forward to. While they are waiting for the second season of the series promised to come out in 2016, they can now add an "Attack on Titan"-inspired Japanese arcade game on their list.
Capcom, the company that developed "Resident Evil," will be in charge of bringing the title to life. The Osaka-based game studio has teased about the project in the recently held Japan Amusement Expo 2015 with title cards bearing the name of the widely popular manga and anime series as it promised that "an arcade game project begins."
"Attack on Titan" has become insanely popular instantly after its debut in 2012. Dreamed up by Hajime Isayama, the series shows what becomes of mankind as flesh-eating ogres called Titans take over the realm, threaten the people's safety and force them to retreat behind enormous walls for shelter. The manga was received well worldwide, spawning it an equally successful anime series.
This also led to a crossover with Marvel Comics, bringing the Titans to the streets of New York to mess up with Iron Man and his troop, not to mention its appearance in the stadium game "Maple Story" and a heavily-visited attraction standing proudly at the Universal Studios Japan.
Indeed, its very own game is the only one left for "Attack on Titan" to get into. But it is worth mentioning that "Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Paradise" developer Spike Chunsoft took a stab at turning the series into a Nintendo 3Ds-exclusive title "Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind." There were also loads of films drawn out from the franchise, all exploring the shared dark world of mankind and the terrifying creatures.
The production for the "Attack on Titan" arcade game is well underway but Capcom, which is busy with "Street Fighter V" at the moment, is keeping details at a minimum.
