'Attack on Titan' season 2 release date may not happen in 2016 as reality looks bleak

Season 2 of 'Attack of the Titan' should have been out in 2015 but has been thus far delayed. A 2016 was presumed but at the rate things are going on right now, there is no specific timetable on when the manga series will actually come out.

There are reports that 'Attack of the Titan' season 2 will begin production just now while others say that it is already in the works. To sum it all up, seeing the manga series come out in 2016 could be close to impossible.

A reason cited for this is that the both the anime and manga series are reportedly being produced at the same time. Seeing that the manga version relies on the anime storyline, the former cannot outpace or overtake the anime version.

And since the manga version is drawn by hand, one episode of the 'Attack of the Titan' anime version covers a large chunk of the manga version.

With that said, such has become the problem for the long delay for the said series and that no actual timetable has been given on when season 2 would come out.

And while that piece of update could be a disappointment to many, Wit Studios may offer an alternative for disappointed followers of 'Attack of the Titan.' Instead of a series, a bunch of movie versions are said to be in the works.

This includes 'Attack on Titan: No Regrets' and a prequel titled Birth of Levi. From the looks of it and while fans await for the official release of season 2, Wit Studios will be trying to buy the producers some time with these movies, particularly the prequel which tells about backstory of some characters.
