The Asus ZenFone 2 is starting to arrive in more regions. The much-awaited device will be up for grabs in India starting April 23 and Malaysia will get it starting May 9.

The Asus ZenFone 2 is poised to beat other devices that launched in the said territories, including those by Xiaomi, Samsung, and Gionee. As what Asus India touted as it revealed the arrival of the handset there, the Asus ZenFone 2 is the world's first smartphone with 4 GB of RAM. The device has three variants, namely the ZE551ML, the ZE550ML and the ZE500CL, which all have sub-variants of their own.

Meanwhile, those in Malaysia will welcome the Asus ZenFone 2 on May 9 in an event to be staged in Kuala Lumpur. Instead of limiting the introduction of the handset to the press, the company will be opening its doors to 1,000 fans, provided they register online. There is no word as to which variants will be made available in Malaysia but since Asus is just launching the device there, there is reason to expect that all Asus ZenFone 2 models will put in an appearance.

The Asus ZenFone 2 is quite a package despite its affordable price. The one that goes with the moniker ZE551ML is the top-end of the bunch, with 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM priced at Rs. 19,900. It measures 5.5-inches and it runs a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz.

Its 32 GB variant paired with the same 4 GB memory along with a 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor is at Rs. 18,000. The 32 GB/ 2 GB RAM bundle powered with the same chipset is at Rs. 13,900.

The Asus ZenFone 2 ZE550ML has the same variants but with a 5.5-inch HD display. On the other hand, the basic Asus ZenFone 2 model is the ZE500CL, which comes with a 5-inch screen and a single SIM slot (the rest of the series have dual SIM slots).
