'Arrow' season 4 spoilers: Damien Darkh confirmed as new villain

The "Arrow" panel at the San Diego Comic-Con 2015 had a lot to offer. For starters, it was where Oliver Queen debuted his new suit, which insinuates that season 4 may just be the season the crossbow-wielding hero will go by the name Green Arrow as what he was always destined to be called.

In the Facebook page of lead star Stephen Amell, the actor posted a photo of himself donning the awesome garb, captioning it: "The Green Arrow." It was all over the "Arrow" social media accounts as well.

Maya Mani, the designer of Arrow's costume along with those of Arsenal, Speedy, Black Canary and ATOM, was successful in making Oliver look more like his comic book counterpart, shedding the sleeves and getting a big leather treatment.

Apart from the costume reveal, Damien Darkh's inclusion was also made official, with actor Neal McDonough playing the role of the villain. MCU fans will recognize McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan from the "Captain America: The First Avenger" movie.

Damien Darkh, according to IGN, is described as "mysterious and sophisticated." Along with a "clandestine group," presumably H.I.V.E., Darkh will "prove to be one of the Arrow's greatest challenges."  Fans will see him in season 4 almost immediately.

"We just needed an amazing actor; someone who commanded the screen. With Matt Nable and John Barrowman and Manu Bennett, the bar is set really high," executive producer Marc Guggenheim was quoted by Yahoo! as saying during the convention. "So we needed someone who could play at or above that level and in Neal, we found someone who has — if you'll pardon the pun — the darkness and can project that menace that we need in a great villain. It's a cliché, but it's true: Your hero is only as good as your villain."

Meanwhile, Malcolm Merlyn, better known as the new Ra's Al Ghul, will be "even more evil" in season 4.

John Barrowman, who plays Merlyn in the series, said, "And also... there will be magic involved because I am The Magician."

"Arrow" season 4 will premiere on Oct. 7.
