Apple's soon to be launched iWatch (April, 2015) is expected to provide customers a modern way of keeping tabs with their health but it seems that this is only the beginning of another direction that the company is heading to. And a job listing has probably given all that away.
Speculations are high that Apple will be revving up efforts to boost its wearable tech aimed at developing and providing more health-related gadgets after a job listing calling for a Human Factors Anthropometry Engineer/Researcher" was spotted.
For the folks who are unaware of Anthropometry, it is the study of measurements and proportions of the human body which somehow reinforces the initial stuff that Apple's wearable devices have to offer.
It is speculated that the iWatch would most likely have something to do with monitoring a person's vitals but all that should be minor compared to the things that a health engineer could provide.
Among the qualifications that Apple is looking for in connection with the said position include the ability to use 3D scanning equipment and motion capture. Aside from the technical qualifications, the ideal person will also be responsible to collect, document and analyze anthropometric and biometric measurements.
The recent job listing however is not the first time that Apple will be looking for health field personnel. Back in the Fall, Apple did go on a hiring spree for individuals who were involved in fitness and medicine. And apparently such was done to provide help in the development of the Apple Watch.
And now with the foundation covered, Apple could be taking it to the next level with more complicated wearable technology. Considering that the health industry is a market that comes with lucrative potential, one has to wonder on what future wearable (health) devices will follow the Apple Watch.
