Amplitude release date for Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 pushed back

Gamers who have been eagerly awaiting Amplitude for the PS3 and PS4 may have to wait a bit longer after Harmonix announced that reworked version will be delayed for release.

The reworked version of the game many may perhaps find familiar during the PS2 regime may have to wait until the Summer to try out their musical prowess especially in multiplayer challenges.

Apparently the developers are having some problems trying to make it work for the newer game consoles.

"This is our first time working on PlayStation 4, and it's been a big learning experience for the team," says Harmonix in an article from Kickstarter.

Amplitude was able to meet the funding goal ($775,000) in May of last year but it looks like they got more than what they bargained for as far as making it work with the PS3 or PS4. And apparently they are not feeling the effects of having to work with the game publishers, needing to meet deadlines without of course sacrificing the quality of the game as a whole.

For those who are unfamiliar with Amplitude, it is about controlling a Beat Blaster Chip and hitting notes on via color-coded tracks which are part of the song that is being played.

Somehow similar to popular games such as Guitar Hero or Rock Band, players need to hit up the correct sequence of notes in order to get high scores.

"You've given us the opportunity to create the game we want to make and, more importantly, make the game that you want," Harmonix said, adding that in order to meet that goal, they are unwilling to cut any corners.

The game was scheduled to be out by March of this year. However, with all the pressure now on Harmonix, it looks like they will have to push back that target date a bit.
