'American Horror Story' season 6 release date, spoilers: San Diego Comic-Con 2016 panel to confirm the theme

It's just a couple of months before FX's hit horror anthology, "American Horror Story", is back on the small screen and we are eager to know what the theme will be.

There have been a few hints already dropped regarding Season 6, including a recent Facebook post which was an interesting blend of a 6 with a question mark.

Yes we have questions, questions, questions, indeed and the most obvious question of the moment is what the theme will be as so far, the show's producers have been quiet on the subject.

They're obviously enjoying keeping fans on the edge of their seats!

That might be about to change though as San Diego Comic-Con is about to kick off from July 21 to 24 and the people behind "American Horror Story" are set to be there.

Fans who are lucky enough to be at the event will have a chance of taking part in the virtual reality (VR) experience they will be offering at their booth.

To participate, fans need to make sure they reserve a slot on the VR experience via the website.

FX said in a statement: "For attendees who love a thrill, 'American Horror Story' will curate a virtual reality experience unlike any other that takes participants on a unique journey through terrifying encounters inspired by the hair-raising series. The AHS Fearless VR Experience will be an opportunity for 'American Horror Story' fans to become a part of their favorite show and test the boundaries of their own fear."

It remains to be seen whether the showrunners will keep fans of the show in suspense or throw us a bone or two about the show.

They have a history of staying tightlipped with details but with some luck, we may get a few more teasers.  What we do know is that the premiere date for "American Horror Story" season 6 is Wednesday, September 14, at 10pm EDT on FX, and this season will be a little shorter with just 10 episodes rather than the normal 12-13.
