The Starz television show "American Gods" has yet to announce the premiere of the highly anticipated second season. There is not much news about this since the project is still being penned by the writers. However, the showrunners did reveal a bit of information as to what fans can expect for next season.

In a report by TV Line, one of the co-creator of the series, Michael Green stated that the script for season 2 is still being worked on. Fans may have expected season 2 to air sometime in April very much like the first season, but given the current timeline of production, it seems like the second season will start production in early 2018. It is highly unrealistic for the fans to be introduced to the House of Rock in April.

Fans and audiences may have to wait a little bit longer for the Neil Gaiman television adaptation of season 2, but the show's creators have been leaving bread crumbs after the finale of season 1 as to what can be expected. As previously reported by Deadline, Green had stated that the first season of "American Gods" has taken a dark turn. In effect, season 2 will be an "angry one" as the pieces have already been set.

The show so far has been able to update the 2001 novel by Gaiman of the same name, by tackling relevant issues like immigration, social media, technology, and faith. According to Inverse, the first season was particularly rough for the show's main protagonist, Shadow Moon, played by Ricky Whittle.

Upon the release of the second season, fans can expect that Shadow will be have a better understanding of his situation, and from there, he will be making more proactive decisions — especially since the old gods and the new ones are trying to lure him to join their side.
