Alec Baldwin expresses disappointment in public for criticizing Woody Allen

Outspoken American actor Alec Baldwin posted on his social media page recently to talk about his opinions regarding acclaimed director Woody Allen and his sexual abuse case filed by his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow. This occurs just shortly after other famous Hollywood personalities have been keeping their distance from the 82-year-old director and filmmaker, just after the allegations against him have resurfaced.

In the tweet posted by Baldwin, he reminded the public that Allen had already undergone due process after being looked into by forensics from Connecticut and New York, and left without any charges being filed against him. However, despite the lack of evidence to support Farrow's claim, the situation of the director is described by Baldwin as a "renunciation" -- which means that Allen is now being shunned.

Baldwin also expressed that working with Allen was a privilege. It is apparent that the 59-year-old actor is deeply affected by what is happening with Allen, especially in this day and age. The actor's tweet came shortly after a handful of the cast members from Allen's most recent film titled "A Rainy Day in New York" decided to donate their paychecks to anti-sexual abuse programs. Timothee Chalamet is the most recent one to donate his salary for a good cause.

Chalamet also spoke against Allen after Farrow recently penned an op-ed, questioning why the recent anti-sexual abuse movements, such as "Time's Up" and "Me Too," have seemingly ignored the case of the 82-year-old director. The op-ed certainly got a lot of people's attention, and effectively urged people who had previously worked with Allen to express their desire to support Farrow, or to donate a large sum of money for a good cause.

Some of the actors that have denounced Allen are Greta Gerwig, Rebecca Hall, and Mira Sorvino. Sorvino won an Oscar award for her performance in the 1995 film by Allen "Mighty Aphrodite."
