World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion, AJ Styles, may have just lost to Brock Lesnar recently at the WWE "Survivor Series," but it seems that the well-respected wrestler is already looking towards the future and thinking about retirement. Unfortunately for fans of the super star, Styles' ideal time frame for retirement is going to be sooner than anticipated.

In a report by the Inquisitr, Styles expressed the details involving his retirement on the radio station "97.9 The Box," and was also with the NXT Champion Drew McIntyre at that time. Styles stated that with age, it becomes much more difficult to maintain the level of physique required of a wrestler, as well as the energy level that comes with it. Being a wrestler requires a lot of self-control and discipline, which is one of Styles' primary motivations for getting out early.

In addition, Styles has also mentioned that he misses his children very much since his career requires him to be on the road often. In the past, he has had to deal with situations wherein he would have to discipline his children over the phone just so that he can fulfill his obligations as a good father. This is why Styles stated that in about two years, he is planning to change this current set-up that he has with his family.

According to Give Me Sport, Styles has no problem with other wrestlers still being at the industry despite their old age. Styles stated that "if you still have that drive and you can still do it, why not?" The hosts of the radio station expressed their desire for Styles to keep going as a professional wrestler. Yet, the truth of the matter is that Styles is already 40 years old, and should seriously start considering retirement.

It seems that Styles has also missed out on a lot of his favorite things ever since he joined the WWE. As reported by The Sportster, Styles is excited at the thought of watching his children participate in whatever sport they want to. Styles strongly believes that if he gives his career a little more time, he would then be able to enjoy the fruits of his labor in the years to come.
