Xiaomi is constantly expanding its reach, but the Chinese company holds India as one of its major markets and so, the company is staging the big reveal of its new global Mi smartphone in New Delhi. The event will be graced by Xiaomi CEO and founder Lei Jun as well as company president and co-founder Bin Lin.  Vice President of Xiaomi Global Hugo Barra will not miss the affair, which will happen at the Siri Fort auditorium.

In an invitation posted on its official Twitter account, the company teased that "i is coming." However, there is still no solid details about what specific device Xiaomi will be unveiling on April 23.

According to some reports, a handset called Xiaomi Mi 4i may be the mystery device. A 2015 smartphone with the name was recently found certified in the Infocomm Development authority database in Singapore. Thanks to a GeekBench3 benchmark test, the specs of the alleged Xiaomi Mi 4i handset, which was revealed to be a mid-range device, were made known. It is said to pack a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at .65GHz as well as 2 GB RAM.

Some reports claim that Xiaomi will be introducing the Mi5, which will serve as the successor to the Mi4. The device is expected to come with specs identical to that of the 5.7-inch Mi Note Pro that has a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor complemented with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. The Xiaomi Mi5 may also feature a 13-megapixel rear-facing shooter and a 4-megapixel front-facing camera. Also, there is Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and a hefty 3000 mAh battery unit.

But of course, the only way to know what Xiaomi has up its sleeve is by waiting for the New Delhi event, which is open for fans as well. Those who want to join the company in lifting the veil off the new smartphone offering can register here
